Repertoire

Compulsory Repertoire
The information about which repeats or movements should or should not be played in a composition will be published shortly before the category auditions on a notice board in the Theater an der Ilmenau and on the homepage. Please note this information!
The order in which the pieces are played in each round is freely selectable.
Repertoire of own choice
Category I (Flute Solo) and Category II (2 Flutes and Piano)
The selected pieces for the 3rd round have to be made available to the jury as PDFs and with 3 copies (upon reaching the 3rd round). Please send your program and the score as PDFs to info[at]kuhlau.de and submit the printouts to the competition office.
Category III (3 or 4 flutes)
The selected works for the 1st and 2nd rounds of Category III must be made available to the jury as PDFs and with 3 copies at the start of the competition. The selected pieces for the 3rd round have to be made available to the jury as PDFs and with 3 copies (upon reaching the 3rd round). Please send your program and the score as PDFs to info[at]kuhlau.de and submit the printouts to the competition office.
Rehearsal rooms
Rehearsal rooms are available for participants in the competition in the Theater an der Ilmenau and in the adjacent school, the Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium. These are marked with a notice. You can enter your preferred rehearsal times there.
Opening hours of the theater/Herzog-Ernst-Gymnasium:
Sunday, October 19, 1-8 p.m.
Monday-Saturday, October 20-25, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are 5 rehearsal rooms with pianos available.
There is also the opportunity to rehearse in the council chamber of the town hall - there is a grand piano available here.
Opening hours of the council chamber:
Monday-Thursday, October 20-23, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friday, October 24, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Please leave the building on time!

Short rehearsals on the stage in the theater hall are also possible on Sunday, October 19, as well as before and after the competition rounds and during lunch breaks. It should be noted that ensembles that audition first are also allowed to rehearse first. A piece of paper with time slots for entry will be attached to the hall door.
Help with turning pages
If you need someone to turn the pages for you, please speak to participants who are currently free. The competition doesn't provide anyone to help you.
Photocopies
Auditioning from photocopies is not permitted.
If you have copied sheet music for better playability, you must carry the original sheet music with you. If you have purchased sheet music online to download and print out, you can of course play from the printout. Please ensure that the rights of authors, editors or publishers are not violated.
Performance
The order of the auditions will be drawn when you register in person on October 19 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. in the competition office in the Theater an der Ilmenau/ Uelzen.
During the week: please be there in good time before the start of your performance. Please enter the theater hall during a break between auditions and contact the organizer briefly before your audition.
Valuables/bags
The theater is open, so please always look after your valuables etc. The competition accepts no liability for the loss of your personal belongings.
During your audition, you can leave your belongings in the competition office (next to the hall doors).
Certificates/Confirmations of Participation
The prizewinners will receive their certificates at the closing concert. These can also be sent by email upon request. After the competition, all participants who did not receive a prize will receive a confirmation of participation by email.
